IMTS Chicago 2026 has come to a close, reaffirming its importance for the machine tool and manufacturing technology sectors. From September 14 to 19, McCormick Place brought together manufacturers and industry professionals for six days of demonstrations, meetings and technical discussions.
For Gruppo Parpas, this edition marked the start of projects with new Customers and an opportunity to meet longstanding Customers, building on established relationships to address new manufacturing challenges. Aerospace, power generation and precision engineering were the key sectors shaping our participation.
Evolving Requirements, Lasting Relationships
The value of an exhibition like IMTS lies in direct discussions about applications. Presenting a technology means examining what the Customer needs to produce: geometries, materials and quality requirements. These are the starting points for evaluating a solution.
In Chicago, we explored these topics both with those discovering Gruppo Parpas for the first time and with Customers who already know our machines through daily production experience.
With longstanding Customers, discussions build on shared knowledge and evolve alongside their requirements. New projects become a natural continuation of the partnership, drawing on accumulated experience and the opportunity to introduce further technical solutions.
Discussions with new Customers and longstanding partners help define each project’s priorities, connecting practical production experience with the requirements of new applications.
DIAMOND 10: Precision and Dynamics in Action
At the centre of our booth was DIAMOND 10, the 5-axis Gantry machining centre representing the technological evolution of the DIAMOND line.
Its monobloc structure, linear motors and thermal stabilization of the Gantry and RAM reflect a clear design approach: supporting machine dynamics while maintaining control over volumetric accuracy and stability during machining.
Having DIAMOND 10 on display provided a practical reference for application discussions. Seeing the technology in action allows Customers to explore its design choices with our team and assess how they align with their requirements for surface quality, repeatability and process reliability.
A monobloc structure, linear motors and thermal stabilization of the Gantry and RAM are the design choices through which DIAMOND 10 addresses dynamics, volumetric accuracy and stability.
Aerospace, Power Generation and Precision Engineering
Interest from these sectors shaped the meetings throughout our week in Chicago. Each application requires its own assessment: components, machining constraints and production priorities vary from project to project.
Our role is to explore these differences with Customers, bringing together design expertise and machining knowledge. The choice of machine and configuration grows out of this work, with the aim of supporting productivity while preserving the required accuracy.
For aerospace, power generation and precision engineering projects, machine configuration must be defined around the components to be produced, the machining operations and the quality requirements.
Work Continues Beyond Chicago
The projects initiated during IMTS now move forward through technical discussions and the definition of suitable solutions. Meetings with longstanding Customers also opened up further opportunities to develop partnerships that continue to evolve over time.
We thank all the Customers and industry professionals who visited our booth and shared their requirements, ideas and production goals.
Special thanks go to the Gruppo Parpas team and our colleagues at Parpas America. Their expertise, support and commitment throughout the six days of the exhibition—from demonstrations to application discussions—contributed to the success of this edition.
